Hello, I’m back! It’s been awhile since I posted on Sweet Maple… taking care of a toddler, being pregnant, and working full-time took up most of my time in 2015! 2016 is here and I’m excited to be back. I can’t wait to share with you my latest project… a big boy room! This is Nathan’s nursery that he is in right now….

The room worked really well for him but after finding out we were expecting a boy, I loved the idea of starting something new for N’s room, now knowing his personality.

I found it pretty challenging to find a room that I liked and that I thought suited him. It probably took me 2 months of pouring through pictures on Pinterest to find a good direction to take when planning his room.

These are my top 2 rooms that are inspiring me for N’s big boy room…

Jordan from Oh Happy Day put together the cutest room for her two boys. It’s full of colour and a sense of adventure – I wanted something like this. I loved that she makes it easy to clean and organize at the end of the day.

The next picture is the one that started things off… I absolutely loved this mural.

I loved the simplicity of it and the colours. When I saw this picture, we had just gotten back from traveling to the Canadian Rockies (it was amazing) so it made my decision easier to choose to do the mural on one of the walls and go from there.

I’m still working on this room and hope to have it done by end of March. Can’t wait to show you the finished product!!
