Living Room Reveal
March 6th, 2015
I revealed our kitchen and now I would love to show you our living room which connects to the kitchen. We wanted one big open space at the back of the house. So we started off with a floor plan like this:
This is our floor plan now. Much more functional for our family. I love having the kitchen and living room at the back of the house.
To get this open look at the back of the house we had to remove the wall between the old kitchen and the family room.
This was the kitchen we had stuck in the middle of our house. We had lovely painted counters and cupboards. It was really satisfying knocking out the cupboards!
Another before shot of the family room. The range now sits where the fireplace used to be. Since we removed a load-bearing wall, Matt had to install a beam and a post which is part of the kitchen island.
OMG absolutely beautiful!!! Matt did a wonderful job and so did you. Very talented people.
LOOKS INCREDIBLE! Wow!
Oh my – that is breathtaking. Great job!
I am entirely smitten by the combination of the gray island and white cabinets. What a functional and beautiful layout! After seeing these images, I’m ESPECIALLY excited to follow your One Room Challenge progress in your master!
Wonderful transformation! Enjoy your new space!
where do you find your pillows? do you buy the fabric locally? every fantastic fabric store seems to be in the US ( I am from the GTA as well) please help a girl out!
Hi, I buy the fabric from designer fabrics (downtown Toronto) or Tonic Living. Both are great options… I love both equally. I did buy fabric for those living room pillows from both places and I love the fabric from designer fabrics, it’s held up really well. Good luck!!!
[…] did some major renovations to the main floor (see kitchen here and living room here), so this is what our dining room space looked like when we moved […]
