From the Weekend: Happy Father’s Day!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I’m just recovering, it was a busy one. We went to the Sound of Music festival a few times and had our families over for a BBQ on Father’s Day…. I didn’t want the weekend to end!

Father’s day can be a tough one because I know not everyone has their father in their lives. I am very grateful for my dad, he was and still is there for my brother and I.

I watch the Today Show every morning, and all last week they were talking about Modern Dads – the role of a dad has really changed, children now expect their dads to be engaged in their lives. It is not about being emotionally turned off to their children or just focusing on bringing home the paycheck. Now, you see dads taking their kids to swimming lessons, going for a bike ride, wanting to be the one who gives the baby the dream feed at the end of the day. It’s also now normal to see a dad changing a dirty diaper… I think it’s really cool how this role has evolved over the last decade and I can see how amazing my husband is as a father.
