Let’s Do Spring with the Home Depot: Part 2
April 11th, 2014
Last week I showed you some of the new patio sets Home Depot are featuring this season, this week I’m going to show you how to update your patio. Sometimes you just need a new accessory or design element to your outdoor space to update it and make it your own.
Whether you need a few toss cushions for your outdoor seating or chair cushions for your dining set, check out the Hampton Bay collection at Home Depot. They made it pretty easy to pull a new look together. Remember to try to mix and match patterns!
When I first moved out, we could only afford a cheap patio set on sale at a grocery store. All it took was adding 1 cushion on each chair and a rectangular one for the loveseat to make it work until we could afford a nicer collection.
You can cover any existing surface with envirotile. It is a pretty cool product and it is environmentally friendly which is even better. The tiles are made from 100-percent recycled rubber tiles diverted from landfills. Envirotile is sold exclusively at Home Depot. You can change the look of your patio in a few hours!
Think of your patio as your outdoor living area, you want to make it as comfortable as your indoor spaces. Most people don’t think of adding rugs outdoors but it’s a quick update and very low maintenance if you chose the right material.
If you are like me and gardening doesn’t come easy, you definitely need to buy some planters from Home Depot. Fill them with your favourite annuals and place them around your patio. It’s the one thing I can easily maintain throughout the summer! I think I have killed 12 cedars… I’m not proud of it! That will be one project we will be working on this summer, figuring out what to plant in our backyard.
You could always plant a herb garden, it’s an easy DIY. Last summer, I was able to use my herb garden until the fall!
Even easier, buy a few hanging plants! Learn how to maintain them.
Thanks for the tips, I never thought about adding a rug to our patio!
Never thought about resurfacing the patio area. I will have to look into this, could be our spring project!!
